Tadpole outfit FS, WTB boat

Tadpole outfit FS, WTB boat

Postby Brushiphile » Tue May 05, 2009 11:31 am

I have a "tadpole" rod I bought from Gene/Pearow over on the TFR board that I intended to use for my Brushy Creek adventures, however, I've determined that my current 4wt set up is better suited to my needs. In addition to the rod, I have a Cortland Precision XC large arbor reel loaded with a Cortland WF3F line. The rod fishes great, no issues with distance, it has a pretty slow action. The build quality of the rod is top notch and the reel is a fine piece of equipment, the rod and reel compliment each other well with black components. I'm looking for about $175 for the outfit (~$70 rod, $80 reel, $25 line sounds fair?).

The original thread with information on the rod is found here:

I have some pictures of the complete setup I will post this evening.

Big Fly Bob has gotten me motivated to chase bigger fish, so I'm looking for a couple of things. First is a boat of some type, I'm partial to SOT kayaks, wouldn't mind a SINK, open to kickboats, not too interested in canoes. I'd prefer something fishing specific, like to avoid Pelicans. Second is an 8 wt rod for throwing big flies.

Brushipile - - How many pieces is this little 4 wt. rod? Would you be agreeable to allow a potential buyer to take a test drive? Thanks, Rod

Tim, should you want to borrow one of my kayaks, just to help your opinion of what you want, you would be more than welcome to do so. Just give me a call. I fish out of mine quite a bit so they are set up for fishing.
