Weather: 75 humid start, overcast to partly sunny all day finished at 95 and humid.
Flies that worked: Phairbug popper (see picture)

fished with my coworker and used a mix of conventional and top water fly fishing. Caught two fish using the fly rod, both on topwater. First fish was over 3 1/2 pounds. The second fish was a 5 pounder, I made a nice cast through some wooden debris. Once the popper was just beyond the cover and into the main river the fish hit. It was quite a battle with several acrobatic leaps.
